My Vampire Facial Experience

This PRP method of rapid healing has been around for over 20 years for those that helped patients that suffered skin grafting, burn victims, and even athletes. It works by micro-needling the skin and smearing platelets on the exposed skin. The skin will now use it's only cells to rebuild collagen volume that diminishes with age. I was attracted to this method because it was non-invasive and uses your body's natural process to heal itself.

  • What I learned is that I probably wouldn't have worn yesterday's makeup. If you plan to do this I recommend removing all makeup including mascara as the numbing topical tends to be moist and as you can see smudged my mascara pretty ugly.
  • Bring a good magazine, book, or laptop. You'll be waiting for about 30 minutes for your face to numb.
  • Drawing blood...I'm deathly afraid of needles. But it's like they say "Beauty hurts". So this was one of the toughest steps for me, but I got through it.
  • When the physician goes over the nose area the vibrations make you sneeze. That was kind of weird but so true.
  • It's recommended that you do this treatment every 4 weeks for best results and at least once a year for maintenance.
  • When will I see results from Vampire Facial? I've been told that within a couple weeks I will see major differences. I have already noticed my skin being much more velvetier feel. And showing signs of rejuvenating itself. So I can't wait to see what it looks like in the coming months.
  • During the whole process I found out from my physician that this was also going to be great for the scars that I have on my face. I have a couple chicken pox scars and 2 scars from an car accident and if that's true that would be miraculous!
  • Before you leave your patients chair your physician will rub the remaining of your collected platelets on your face. This will dry on your face and you'll wash off a few hours later.
  • Do not use moisturizer or collagen boosting creams or anything for 3-5 days.
  • You can wear makeup the next day.
  • How much does this treatment cost? Pricing varies per doctor's office. But through my research I found that it can range from $800-$1300.
Thank you so much Dr. Anthony Nikko's office for my Vampire Facial!
