Liberation Series

Without realizing it my home has become a black, white, and silver contemporary typical Texan house. Complete with metallic cowhide rug and long horn skull I had commissioned silver and black painted on my latest trip to Cabo. It's all a work in progress. Still looking for the perfect bits of furniture and all while still developing my own style. I do enjoy living on my own. The kids are a great help when it comes to decorating. They'll usually just give me a solid "no" if I go too far over the eccentric line.  But over the weekend I did something I haven't done in a long time. I painted again! I just randomly started taking a roller to canvas....and shapes formed...

You have to take step back from the canvas to see what it will be and for 4 more hours I went at it. Layer on layer. Brushes and spray paint everywhere. And this transpired.

Another cow. Go figure. I don't know what's come over me. The Texan in me is really showing through. I'm excited to start painting again. I plan to complete this series and possibly work on doing a show and sale on some of my recent work. If that happens you know for sure I'll post it here. But I'm so freaking excited. Painting made me feel so good! I didn't even know time had passed and my heart soared! I think this bull represents to me Liberation. That really how it feels. I won't go into much personal detail but there was something inside myself that has been imprisoned and needed to break out. 2020 is going to be incredible!
